Association with underworld figures and revelry with a teenage model: the sensational life of 76-year-old Viktor Khmarin, who barely survived the "Sever" boat accident
Friends of Vladimir Putin’s classmate and son-in-law, Viktor Khmarin, say that after surviving a boating accident he will face a serious reckoning at home. The accident claimed the life of Solntsevskaya organized crime boss Viktor Averyin, who was on board with Khmarin and an 18-year-old model.
As it turned out, despite his age — 76 — Viktor Khmarin took not only his entourage on the voyage, but also his 18-year-old mistress, a model from the Tula region, Ekaterina Leonova.
Judging by social media posts and leaks, Leonova graduated from high school in Novomoskovsk and then moved to Moscow in search of success. One of her favorite online memes revolves around relationships with married men. Ekaterina frequently posts photos from hotels and trips across Russia.

Many of the locations shown on her social media coincide with Viktor Khmarin’s favorite places: the beaches of Crimea (where he vacationed at the same time this summer), the Ukraina Hotel in Moscow, and other luxury spots.

Life in the capital for the “millionaire’s wife,” as she likes to call herself, appears comfortable and lavish. She regularly photographs herself in luxury car showrooms. Recently, she posted a photo of a Lamborghini with the license plates blurred out, accompanied by an enthusiastic caption, as if praising her own car.
Although Ekaterina does not fit the classic model stereotype, this has not stopped her from attending Vyacheslav Zaitsev’s fashion house and walking the runway. However, it seems her modeling activities will now have to be put on hold.
At present, she is not in contact, nor are her relatives. Other survivors of the incident have also disappeared from the public eye since the tragedy.
Immediately after the sinking of the Sever vessel with VIP passengers on board, Viktor Khmarin was hospitalized. Doctors diagnosed him with hypothermia and expressed serious concerns for the health of the 76-year-old man.
Now that he has been discharged, Khmarin faces another serious ordeal — a conversation with his wife, who is reportedly a cousin of Vladimir Putin.
